THE ENVIRONMENT - POLAR BEARS

I've found a very interesting article on the web about polar bears and climate change. In this link you can see the item. I've designed an activity related to this topic:

THE ENVIRONMENT - VALUES

The activities that I propose have been designed to students of 8-10 years old.

Another activity that I want to recommend is a song. As children love to sing, I think that it will be very motivating for them.
VALUES

This song is very instructive and teaches values as take care the planet because there is only one,  that we can do a lot of thing to preserve it, etc. The song gives some examples like:
1) Brush your teeth, but turn off the tap. 2) Take a shower, don’t have a bath. 3) Walk or ride your bike to school. 4) Recycle paper, that’s the rule. 5) Switch off the lights.  And so on.

I've designed an activity related to the song so that students practice vocabullary and writing.
You can download here and print it.

THE ENVIRONMENT- VIRTUAL MUSEUM

Using these activities I want to practice listening and speaking.

The next video it's a virtual Museum. Let's go to watch!

VIRTUAL MUSEUM

In this activity students can learn specific animals or vegetation that exist in the rainforest, the ocean, the Arctic, the river, etc.
And, what can happen if human don’t take care about these environment?  Well, in this video they can see some examples of what would happen if we don’t take care about our planet. Some people are destroying the nature and we cannot allow it.

To reinforce the knowledge already learned, I've created an exercise with Hot Potatoes related also with the previous activity.

After to watch the video and practice with the exercise, I’d begin an argument. I’d ask them what they would do or what they already do to keep a green planet…
E.g: I've four bins in the kitchen and I recycle paper, plastic, glass and compost. Do you recycle?
